Tuberculosis

Tuberculosis is one the infectious diseases most threatening to humankind. Two million people die of it every year. The problem is that multi-resistant strains of the bacterium have evolved, against which the medications used until now are less and less effective. Scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology are developing an new type of vaccine against tuberculosis.
