The height of a tidal wave near the shore is determined by the adjoining oceans and the size and shape of the seabed. Bars of different heights distributed over a map of the world show the changing tidal currents at six locations on the earth at any given point in time. The changing water level on the bars indicates the changes in tide levels in the six places over a 24 hour period.
