Echolocation, 2D animation

This film demonstrates the echolocation system that dolphins use for navigation. Dolphins use echolocation both to navigate and to catch their prey. They produce sounds within their nasal sacs. The sounds travel through the water and are reflected wherever they encounter an obstacle. From the delay in the echo, the dolphin can then determine the direction and distance of the object.
